Holy Week at St. Paul’s in Seattle

And it starts right now!
Kirby gave me a kind word. She quoted Einstein, I think, or someone else, but she told me that I have to do what only I can do and resist getting stuck thinking about what others can do that I cannot (she said it with far more eloquence). They are not me nor I them. Admonish what others do well, praise them for it, but let the jealousy pass by, and then give the world my story just as they give the world their’s. Shannon always told me, “Jealousy kills creativity,” and I think I understand that. So I’ll give it my best go here in Chicago.
NPR has a full Tom Waits concert, a 2.5 hour show on the last stop of his Glitter and Doom tour in 2008. Go here (iTunes) and go down to show 296.
Libby and Jake are so playful. In shooting their wedding I was getting paid to photograph a giant party and they gave me great creative freedom to document it. I’m sure that these photos won’t look dated in 20 years, but we had an absolute blast.
If you want me to photograph you mounting giant art pieces in public for your special wedding day, email me. joshua at joshualongbrake.com. (Portfolio)
Your parents will like at least half of the photos.

Paul took a photo of me and Jack with his phone.
Check out Paul’s series Same Hill, Different Day.
Here’s one I took of Paul with my phone at his home in Uptown.
